Sometimes treasure chests can wash onto the shore of your island. They will appear slightly open with jewels spilling out and sparkles rising from it as if they were an animal. They are one of the items you can salvage, which means it counts towards the salvage limit.
If you click on one you instantly collect 150 c, and you can choose to make a post to your wall. If neighbors click on the post they can collect 25 c each at no cost to you. You also gain 25c for each friend that collects from your treasure chest[1], making it a favorable thing to publish any treasure chest that you find and salvage.
